My dad had advanced Alzheimer’s so every week my mum had Josim (sorry, not sure of spelling) visit for 2 hours to give her respite. My mum requested a male carer who could talk to my dad about sports. From the moment she met him, mum felt Josim was perfect for my dad. He was friendly, trustworthy & kind. Mum said Josim didn’t just chat to dad; he wanted to get my da d outside for walks (whilst he was still able to). He was patient and seemed knowledgeable about dad’s disease.
It was a sad day when dad had to go into a nursing home and say bye to Josim, who had been one of the high lights in his week.
